OUR WORK
The longstanding collaboration between the Smack 70's OBs and SMACK has evolved and converged into the establishment of a single purpose, special purpose vehicle [ SPV] - the SMACK Duc In Altum Endowment Ltd, hereafter called The Endowment,
incorporated both in Uganda and the USA.
This approach is paving the way for a brighter future for our school. We're not just focused on tackling immediate challenges but also envisioning and executing sustainable plans. We're excited about the prospect of working with the school's administration, Board of Governors, and other stakeholders to make our vision a reality, and we encourage you to join us in creating positive impact.

01
DORMITORY BLOCK
CONSTRUCTION
The Endowment shall mobilize resources to construct and complete a dormitory block, complementing the ongoing construction efforts by the School Administration. Each of the two blocks, the one being constructed by the school administration and the other to be funded and constructed by The Endowment, is anticipated to accommodate 780 students.
Our technical team will collaborate with the existing contractors, architects, and engineers to review and enhance the construction concept, design, and costing. This collaborative effort aims to deliver a first-class
dormitory structure that will bear the name of the late Mr. J.C. Kiwanuka, the long-serving Deputy Head Teacher during the 1970s. Throughout the construction process, The Endowment Team will demonstrate the cost-effectiveness of utilizing hollow blocks and a block-making machine that will be stationed at the construction site.

02
MASTER PLAN
DEVELOPMENT
The Endowment and the SMACK Board of Governors will work in tandem to develop or revise the School’s Masterplan. This collaborative effort will include the integration of long-term projects, such as the construction of an international-class sports complex on the 15 acres of land at Kanywa, generously donated to St. Mary’s College by the Brothers of Christian Instruction (BCI).
The proposed sports complex not only addresses immediate sports needs but also serves as a sustainable means for the school to generate additional development funds.

03
ENDOWMENT FUND
ESTABLISHMENT
The SMACK 70s Old Boys have already established an endowment fund “ THE SMACK DUC IN ALTUM ENDOWMENT FUND ” within Uganda and the USA. This fund will serve as a dedicated vehicle for mobilizing approved project contributions, giftings and donations in kind or otherwise.
The fund's management will be overseen by a Board of Trustees, featuring representatives from BCI, the SMACK Board of Governors, and The Endowment. The structure ensures transparency, accountability, continuity and effective utilization of resources for the development of school infrastructure in alignment with the Masterplan.

04
INTERNET
CONNECTIVITY
The Endowment shall also look into the matter of the required Smack Wi-Fi connectivity and related infrastructure, as requested by the school administration, within the context of the proposed Masterplan.
We believe that the collaboration between The Endowment and St. Mary’s College will not only address the immediate challenges faced by the school but also pave the way for long-term,
sustainable development.
We are excited about the prospect of working hand-in-hand again with the school administration, Board of Governors, and other stakeholders to achieve these goals.
