FESTUS KIBUUKA
Chairman - Endowment Management Committee Chairman - SMACK 70s
Festus Kibuuka brings over 35 years of exemplary experience in leadership, management, and institutional capacity strengthening, making him an outstanding resource for the role of Chairman of the Management Committee of the SMACK Endowment. His extensive work spans various sectors, including donor-funded programs, Central Government Ministries, Local Governments, and Private Sector Organizations across Uganda and the African region, all centered on enhancing service delivery.
Festus studied Statistics and Economics at Makerere University, Kampala, and Development Management at the University of Birmingham, UK. His academic foundation informs his strategic approach to financial and organizational management.
As the Institutional Capacity Building Manager, Advisor, and Consultant for over two decades, Festus has consistently demonstrated his ability to lead teams and strengthen organizations. Notably, he was the manager Capacity Building at the USAID/ACE project (Dec. 2005 - Sept. 2009), collaborating with international partners such as Chemonics International and the Population Council to enhance institutional capacity within Uganda. Additionally, he served as the Institutional Capacity Building Advisor for the African Youth Alliance (AYA) program (2002 - 2005), impacting youth programs across Uganda, Tanzania, Botswana, and Ghana.
His experience further includes his tenure as the Technical Manager for Organizational Capacity Building under the EU/8th EDF Micro Projects Program, where he led a multidisciplinary team to support local governments and communities in Uganda. By strengthening their capacities in areas such as grants management and social infrastructure, Festus played a crucial role in fostering sustainable community development.
A proud member and chairman of the SMACK 1970’s alumni, Festus has been an active contributor to the college community. He was a key member of the Project Implementation Committee (PIC), playing a vital role in the successful construction of the new Higher School Certificate (HSC) block during 2017-2018. His outstanding qualifications, coupled with his ability to adapt to new challenges and concepts, make him an invaluable asset in steering the organization's mission forward and ensuring its continued success.

ALINAFFE KALULE
Trustee and Finance Management Advisor, SMACK DUC IN ALTUM Endowment
Alinaffe Kalule currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors for St. Mary’s College, Kisubi (SMACK), where he also leads the Finance and Development Committees. With a distinguished career as a finance professional, Alinaffe is the Finance Management Advisor for the SMACK DUC IN ALTUM Endowment, where he plays a pivotal role in strengthening the endowment's financial strategies and ensuring its long-term sustainability.
Education:
Alinaffe's educational journey began at St. Mary’s College, Kisubi, where he nurtured his passion for learning and leadership. He pursued higher education at Makerere University and Boston University, gaining advanced knowledge that forms the foundation of his strategic financial management approach. His executive training at prestigious institutions, including Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), has equipped him with cutting-edge insights into global financial practices, further enhancing his ability to navigate complex financial landscapes.

Alinaffe brings a wealth of experience to his role, having held several high-level positions that underscore his expertise in finance:
Executive Director, Bank of Uganda: In this role, he was influential in shaping the nation's monetary policy and enhancing the stability of the financial system, contributing to the overall economic health of the country.
Chief Executive Officer, Pax Insurance Company: Under his leadership, Pax Insurance Company executed transformative strategies that significantly improved organizational performance, positioning the company for sustainable growth.
In addition to his Executive roles, Alinaffe occupies several key governance positions:
Chairperson, Financial Intelligence Authority: Leading efforts to safeguard the integrity of Uganda’s financial system.
Member, Governing Councils of the Uganda Management Institute and Uganda Catholic Management & Training Institute: Actively contributing to the governance and direction of these reputable educational institutions.
Board Member, UBA Uganda Bank: Playing a vital role in promoting financial integrity and best practices within the banking sector.

DEOGRATIAS WALUKAALI KASOZI
Managing Trustee
Deogratias Walukaali Kasozi, a distinguished Endowment Trustee of the SMACK Endowment Fund, epitomizes the spirit of commitment and excellence that the Fund seeks to promote. An esteemed alumnus of both SMACK and MUBS, Deo has dedicated his career to fostering growth and innovation in the business sector.
As the Chief Executive of Gasco United Limited, a reputable company specializing in petrol products, Deo demonstrates strong leadership and a profound understanding of the industry. His expertise extends beyond this role, as he serves on the boards of various organizations, including Denovo Bread Bakery Ltd, Delight Primary School, Mt. St. Mary's SS Kamengo, and Matheresa Micro Finance Ltd, among others.
Moreover, as an active member of the SMACK 70s Alumni team, Deo is passionate about giving back to the community and ensuring the continuous support and development of future generations of SMACK students. His multifaceted experience further strengthens the mission of the SMACK Endowment Fund, driving initiatives that enhance educational opportunities and foster a culture of success.

CHARLES OKOTH-OWOR
General Council - Endowment
Charles Okoth-Owor is a highly regarded legal expert with extensive experience in corporate governance, compliance, and community engagement. Currently an advocate at Ntende, Owor & Co Advocates, he offers legal counsel to a diverse range of clients, demonstrating a commitment to integrity and excellence in the legal profession.
As the General Counsel for the SMACK Endowment, Charles brings a rich tapestry of expertise that melds legal acumen with an unwavering dedication to educational advancement and ethical governance. His role as Chairperson of the Audit Committee at the Uganda Management Institute further underscores his commitment to upholding the highest standards of accountability and transparency within organizations.
Professional Experience
Director, Pax Insurance Company Ltd: In this capacity, Charles contributes to strategic decision-making and risk management within the insurance sector, providing insights that strengthen operational resilience and ethical conduct.
Past Chairperson, Electricity Disputes Tribunal: Here, he demonstrated exceptional skills in dispute resolution, effectively navigating complex issues within the energy sector, showcasing his ability to arbitrate in high-stakes situations that require sound legal judgment.
Former Member, Judicial Service Commission: Charles played a vital role in promoting judicial standards by interviewing applicants, appointing magistrates, and recommending individuals for appointment as Judges and Justices of the superior courts to the President. His involvement in these critical processes reflects his steadfast commitment to justice and legal integrity.
Former Bank Secretary, The Cooperative Bank Ltd: He managed corporate governance and compliance matters, ensuring that regulatory frameworks and best practices were adhered to, thereby fostering a culture of integrity within the financial sector.

An active member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society, Charles remains engaged in the wider legal community and committed to enhancing legal practice standards and community service.
Governing Council Member, Uganda Catholic Management & Training Institute: Contributing to the governance of one of Uganda’s premier educational institutions, he is dedicated to promoting educational excellence and capacity building.
Board of Governors: As a former Chairman of the Board of Governors at St. Mary's College, Kisubi, and a member at Our Lady of Good Counsel, Gayaza, Charles has been passionately involved in educational stewardship and development, aligning closely with the mission of the SMACK Endowment.

BROTHER GERLAD BYARUHANGA
Governing Trustee
Brother Gerlad Byaruhanga currently serves as the Assistant Provincial Superior of the Brothers of Christian Instruction (BCI) in Uganda and South Sudan. In his role as a Governing Trustee of the SMACK Duc in Altum Endowment, Brother Gerard brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the institution's mission and values.
With over thirty-five years in the fields of education and counseling, Brother Gerlad has supported a diverse range of clients in both workplace and educational settings. His dedication to client-centered support allows individuals to make informed decisions, promoting personal growth and empowerment. He is well-versed in various theoretical counseling approaches, with a particular focus on cognitive behavioral therapy and person-centered counseling. His expertise extends to spiritual and mental health counseling, making him an invaluable asset to our community.
Brother Gerlad's commitment to enhancing individual well-being aligns perfectly with the goals of the SMACK Duc in Altum Endowment. His leadership and insights are instrumental in guiding the Endowment’s initiatives and ensuring that we continue to uplift and support those we serve. PAUL K BUKENYA MUSOKE
SMACK Duc in Altum Endowment Trustee
Paul K. Bukenya Musoke is a distinguished professional and dedicated alumnus of SMACK, with a robust academic foundation that includes studies at Makerere University Kampala and a Master's Degree in Economics from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. With over thirty years of extensive experience in the banking sector, including executive management and corporate finance, Paul has demonstrated a commitment to fostering financial innovation through the establishment of new financial institutions.
During his two-decade tenure in the United States, Paul held progressively senior roles at prominent banks such as State Street Bank of Boston and First Bank of Boston, ultimately ascending to the position of Vice President of International Banking. In Uganda, he made significant contributions as the founding Managing Director of Pride Microfinance, leading the organization for twelve impactful years.
Paul's dedication to educational advancement is evident in his role as Vice Chairman of the Project Implementation Committee (PIC), where he was instrumental in the successful construction of the new HSC Block in partnership with the SMACK Board of Governors between 2017 and 2018.
His rich background in project management and collaborative initiatives reflects not only his passion for SMACK but also his commitment to enhancing the educational environment for current and future students.
With a classic understanding of the challenges and opportunities that educational institutions face, Paul is exceptionally qualified to serve as a Trustee for the SMACK Endowment.
